My Project
The state of Hawai'i is often referred to as a "melting pot" because of our beautiful culturally diverse population. Being a Hawai'i local and teaching at a heavily military-impacted school, I proudly take on the responsibility of teaching my students about the cultures represented here in Hawai'i.
As a Chinese-American teacher, I am excited to share my own culture with my students through Lunar New Year read-alouds and activities.
The picture books will help my students learn about the celebrations and traditions associated with Lunar New Year. The craft materials will allow my students to make paper dragons in celebration of the "Year of the Dragon." The envelopes will help me share my Chinese family tradition with my students.
