My Project
We have owls on our school grounds. As you can guess, my students are fascinated by these birds, I want to take this teachable moment and show owl’s role in the food web by dissecting pellets and trying to identify prey based on bones. They will also observe and learn about the life cycle of the butterfly.
This project will enable my students to work together to dissect and identify the prey the owls have consumed.
This will motivate my student to learn about the nature of science. They will have to work together, think, and solve the problem of the materials the owls would not be able to digest. This would be an awesome beginning of the year project!
