it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are passionate about learning and are always enthusiastic during remote instruction. Hands on experiences keep them motivated during these challenging times. I am very grateful to see them every day expand their knowledge and their love for school activities.
My Project
Every year in our pre-k students get to experience the life cycles of plants and animals. When we became remote in March of last year our students were only able to experience metamorphosis online. They did not have a chance to experience it by seeing it, right in front of their eyes. When students get the chance to have it right in front of their eyes, the caterpillars, the ants, the seeds...they will observe and analyze how they look, move, and change. Along with learning what they eat, students will also use the materials to grow the caterpillars, watch the ants as they make their home, and grow cilantro seeds. They will also get a change to eat the cilantro after it is grown!
