This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This 6.5 hour on demand and online training will support me in using Lively Letters with my students. This program is speech to print and is based on the science of reading. It has embedded mnemonics in letters of the alphabet to teach letter recognition and sounds as well as other foundational skills. Students learn mouth cues, hand motions, and silly stories that support them in developing phonemic awareness and phonics skills. This training is designed to train teachers in implementing this program with students. I have materials but this professional development will teach me how to use the program correctly so that students in lower grades as well as struggling older students receive instruction to help them thrive as readers.
