My Students
I teach kindergarten at TCES in San Ramon, CA. My class is filled with creative, smart, and kind students. Currently, we are doing distance learning but we hope to be back in the classroom on January 5th.
My Project
Diversity is all around us. It is a beautiful thing in our world. In my classroom, I believe it is important to teach students the value of everyone. One way to do this with young children is to give them the opportunity to explore this through art, read aloud books, and play.
Through play and art children construct their understandings of the social world and learn to value themselves and others around them.
With this project, one of the ways students will be able to learn about diversity is through art. The multicultural colored pencils and people shapes can give them an opportunity to be creative while teaching about differences. In addition, this project includes books, a large floor puzzle, and picture globe that also will provide opportunities for discussions about diversity. I am excited to provide this opportunity for my students.
