Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When you think about compassionate students you think of kind, generous, empathetic kids. Kids are naturally kind and compassionate but a lot of character traits and behaviors are learned. We need a book shelf to help organize our classroom books to make it easier to find these amazing books.
Books like Last Stop on Market Street, Maddi's Fridge, The Breaking News, and A Normal Pig are examples of great children's books that address big feelings of compassion and empathy.
We need a shelf to store some of these books. We also need games to help us build strategizing skills while learning to win and lose to friends. Children need to have opportunities to learn about stories that show compassion and also play with peers to practice the social skills needed to show these big emotions.
