This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Drawing Cameroon orphan portraits will begin with learning about the environment in Cameroon by completing a worksheet and students will use the worksheet to draw the orphans with pictures of Cameroon in the background. This time they will draw their portraits and Cameroon's environment on a blank white puzzle. One side of the puzzle will be the portrait and the environment in the background and the other side words of kindness in French and English.
By drawing colorful puzzle portraits, students will participate in community service, learn about Cameroon's environment and how the orphans live during this time of conflict in their country.
My students will learn about creating a good design for a puzzle as well and learn about color and shapes and how puzzles are made.
Each student will get an email with a photograph of the orphan they are making a puzzle for with their favorite color and their name. This will be the third country this year we have made drawings for with The Memory Project and students learn so much about the world and art at the same time.
