My students need to read both nonfiction and fiction books about insects.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Greene's classroom raised $173

My Students
My first graders come to school full of energy and ready to conquer the world. My job is to keep them motivated and develop critical thinkers. Each child learns differently and part of my job is to find out how to reach them. Some are visual learners, some auditory learners and some learn by hands-on activities. We need to figure out how to reach all learners. My students are sweet and eager to learn. They are motivated and want to be successful students; they just need the opportunity.
My Project
My students will use the books to research and discover facts about insects.
They will be able to identify facts about insects from their fiction and nonfiction books.
The Eric Carle books are always a first grade favorite. The nonfiction books will teach both about insects and text features. They will read both types of books and be able to identify facts about the insects. This will help them in creating a project about an insect. It will also help them identify characteristics that will help them create their own insect. This will get them motivated to start reading to learn.
