Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 5th grade students are enthusiastic learners that strive to be good citizens. Most of my students are limited English proficient. They are highly motivated in need of higher level thinking opportunities. I am interested in providing them with great learning experiences.
They are creative, helpful, hard working, they are eager to learn.
They are from a Latino background. They qualify for free lunch and belong to a Title I school. Our school provides a safe and loving environment for all students to learn and thrive.
My Project
The Who Was books set will make a difference in that my students will have different choices to add to our classroom library. The books are engaging and follow a pattern. My students enjoy reading these books and they will use these to write biographies about important leaders in our history. Also, my students will use sharpies to add to our classroom art supply. They will use them for art projects both individually and in groups. My students enjoy using colorful sharpies to make their projects stand out and they use the black sharpies to outline and do abstract art.
