This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The days of sitting at your desk and completing worksheets is over! I want to provide my students with the opportunity to move around the room, work together, and create original works that look professional.

My fifth grade students are bright, interested children who are learning how to manage their own instruction.

They are enjoying their last year in our elementary school, having one class and being able to combine subject areas, before entering middle school, where classes are more structured.

My Project

My students will be able to move freely around the room, meeting in various configurations and areas, as determined by how the instruction is occurring at that moment. Having the floor seats will make all of this possible. The camera and color printer will allow my students to develop original and innovative creations of their own, whether it be a report on the history of Florida, a self portrait collage, or a math project that beings real world experiences to their studies.

I'm looking for my students to take control of their own education.

Important aspects of this is being able to comfortable move around the room and meet with other students and having the materials to create original works.
