Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember how tough it was to learn new concepts in school just by listening to lectures and reading books? Well...I teach a wonderful class of second graders and I would love to provide them with a more engaging and hands-on opportunity to learn!
I teach a wonderful group of second grade students both with and without disabilities at a small school that receives Title 1 funding.
Well over half of our students are from low income families. As a result, our resources are very limited in general.
My Project
My students have different learning styles as well as a variety of needs. As their teacher, I strive to provide different types of learning opportunities for my students. However, there is only so much I can do with the resources I currently have in my classroom.
I would love to be able to create learning centers where my students could learn the same concepts they are learning in class through more fun and engaging games and activities. I believe that my students would be able to further strengthen their skills in the areas of math, science and the arts through these games and activities.
Being able to receive these materials would not only transform learning into something fun and exciting that my students can look forward to but it would also provide them with the hands-on opportunities many of my students need to learn!
