My students come from low-income neighborhoods where crime is high, but their hope shines bright. They are eager to learn, love to read and enthusiastic about their futures. My students have an innate desire to succeed, they just need support, love and dedication.
My Project
Schools want great effective teachers; teachers want to set their students up for success, but students? They just want to learn and have fun while doing it! I have come to enjoy teaching online because it allows students to learn tech tools and engage with the world around them in more progress ways. I have made the most of online learning, making sure my students are engaged in my lessons by combining their love for technology and their need to learn literacy and writing.
Now that I have assured methods of effectively instructing my students, I am looking forward to making learning online learning more personalized for my students.
Since we no longer have that physical touch, I am looking for other ways my students can feel connected to each other, our classroom and the material they learn.
That is why I got the great idea to hand deliver personalized goody bags to all of my new students! A few things these goody bags will include are: personalized notebooks and water bottles with their names beautifully printed on them (the reason I need a printer and Cricut), pencils, pens and folders, etc.
Although we are at the final stretch of the school year, our students still need to feel motivated to get up and attend school. That’s why as an educator I am prioritizing making my classroom a place where students are excited to learn, whether virtual or in-person.
