My Project

First graders will use Scholastic News and Science Spin to read, learn, and discuss science and current events.

Scholastic News & Science Spin will help my first graders become informed global citizens and lifelong news readers.

Students will use the videos that accompany each article to build upon and develop their background knowledge. They will also participate in close reading activities to build comprehension, fluency, and academic vocabulary. Furthermore, Scholastic News and Science Spin will deepen students' knowledge and understanding of the importance of people, events, and issues in the news.
