Kindergarten is an amazing time of growth and learning! It's a time where students are exploring how language is acquired and how speech and print are connected.
Learning to read and write will provide my students the means to express themselves.
The reading paddles will be used to help students encode (spell) words using counters, boxes, and writing the word. This method of using Elkonin Boxes has been backed by research on how the brain learns to read and write. The card stock will be used to print reading centers to have my students practice their skills independently. My project will help my students learn to spell which will help them with their literacy skills.
