Learn to Read and Read to Learn with Classroom Books!

My students need 19 leveled books and book sets in order to support their literacy development and build background knowledge so that they will read to learn!

My Students

We need more great books to read in our Classroom Library.

My class is comprised of students of unique backgrounds and talents!

My students love to read and build their stamina for reading each day. They each love different genres of books- and this seems to change all the time! I absolutely love that this class is just learning about what they like, but that just means that I need to offer a larger and wider range of books! We are in need of more leveled books of ALL interests, topics, levels and genres. My students range in reading abilities from two grade levels behind to two grade levels ahead- it is so important that I teach to their abilities and help all readers develop skills and strategies necessary to comprehend texts!

My Project

I became a teacher because I love to learn. In order to teach literacy, I know that students need a comprehensive Classroom Library that will support students' reading development and interest so that students so that they will too, love to read and learn! My Classroom Library needs help to grow into the accessible and enriching library that I envision for my students: we need "just right" leveled books so that students have numerous books to read at their independent level and books of different genres and interests that include, picture books, fiction and non-fiction books. It is amazing to see my students' growth throughout the year and I love learning from them! Having a large collection of books of variety will enable students to try different genres out and develop their own tastes in books and authors' writing. Students will be able to practice and build their background knowledge from reading various fiction and non-fiction books!
