My Students

My Family Consumer Science students are form all walks of life and cultures.

My students are curious, problem solvers always excited about learn new things and taking on a new project.

All of my students are form low income families with a high percentage of them being raised by someone other than there parents.

My Project

Indoor gardening systems will be a great way to teach my students about nutrition. It will give them a chance to connect "the seed to table" aspect of the culinary world. The health aspect of growing their own food as well and understanding the world shortage of food. My students will also explore the characteristics of entrepreneurship in the gardening and culinary world.

Though I teach Family consumer Science, we will cross multiple curriculums.

Math, science, history, writing, and of course culinary will all be used with the gardening systems.

First and foremost my students will learn just how enjoyable it is to watch their seed grow into a beautiful harvest. (much like Teachers do with their students)
