Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach Physical Education at a Title 1 school with a majority of students to be English Learners from low-income families. My students love PE and come to my class with positive energy and a thirst for fun learning activities.
Teaching my students about nutrition and how important exercise is to their health at such a young age will make an enormous impact on their future lives.
Learning about good nutrition while playing games will enforce the good foods to eat and hopefully this will encourage them to try and eat healthier.
My students love to do PE stations and with these nutrition items such as My Plate nutrition bean bags, food group bags, and different food group foods, they will be able to play games and learn the different foods groups. Once they know the food groups they will be able to create a nutritious meal as a small group for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My students will love these items and will be so happy to learn about nutrition.
