Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over seventy-seven percent of our students receiving free lunch. Our students speak a multitude of languages. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are also diverse in their academics as well.

My students are an enthusiastic, eager group of third-grade students who come from very diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our school is a Title One school. My students are excited about learning and want to do well. Our class includes gifted learners, English language learners and students with academic disabilities.

My Project

My students are showing a growing interest in learning to draw. They have a variety of interests and enjoy using sketching and illustrations in their work samples and answers. They often ask me how to draw something and unless it is simple lines, I am hopeless.

My library needs a section for "How to Draw" books so my students can have step by step instructions to help them answer their pressing question of "How do you draw a....."!

Please help us add some exciting books to our library so my students can have reference materials for their artistic journeys. Having the correct sketching pencils will give them the tools necessary to learn the correct techniques. The magnets will help them secure the papers to their easels and we can borrow them for science!
