This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 1st grade ENL (English as New Language) classroom is a place where students are allowed to take chances and explore who they are while learning the English language. They get excited to learn English and take pride in their efforts to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
By introducing such sophisticated technology within my classroom, students will be exposed to the new era of learning. They will enter into a virtual world by creating coding and gaming scenarios.
They will also solve real-world problems to make connections within their interests.
My English Language Learners will work in groups while using the Minecraft Education Edition. Students will be able to practice their English skills through Reading websites like Raz Kids, Starfall, and i-Ready to name a few. This project will enhance their speaking and communication skills, as well.
