Everybody loves LEGO kits, especially second graders. This LEGO kit will have the students building a working amusement park. Students will use their engineering skills to draft and build 6 real working rides in this STEM amusement park.
With every trip to STEAM Park, children grow their understanding of gears, motion, measurement, and solving problems together in a fun and engaging way.
Students will begin by constructing a merry-go-round with real working parts where the main gear will spin the cars on the merry-go-round. Next, students will build a swing ride that has boats attached on strings that they can swing out for a fun ride using cranks and gears. Finally, they will build a spinning wheel to simulate a game at the amusement park, balancing teetertotters and rollercoasters, which will enhance their problem-solving and engineering skills.
In every lesson, students will be learning cause and effect, spatial awareness, observing and describing, problem-solving, role play and collaboration.
