My Project
My new second grade classroom is in need of books. My classroom has students from diverse language backgrounds and learning abilities. The classroom is the only way for my students to have access to books. My classroom has an empty book shelf just waiting to be filled with different genres of books so that we may offer different activities to my students, such as book talks and book clubs.
Books let you travel without moving your feet.
I would love to create a robust classroom library, with a reading nook, so that my students become lifelong readers.
With a variety of genres, topics that are relevant to their lives, new books on their reading levels and interests, I only want to strengthen my students' understanding of the world around them and support their thirst for knowledge and love of reading.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
