This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students from this school come from around the local area. We are located by the Port of LA. I seek to spark the love of learning to the students in our learning community.
I am a first grade teacher to a wonderful group of students who have grown in confidence , but are eager to increase their knowledge in STEM related concepts.
Our 1st grade learning adventure has been a great experience, and they enjoy fun hands-on learning opportunities that foster creativity and collaboration.
My Project
All my students enjoy building and creating with LEGOS. By providing educational LEGO kits, they will engage in fun filled activities that connect to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) related concepts. As they build their creations, it promotes hands-on experiences. These learning experiences use LEGOS in a diverse manner that is accessible to children of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. The students will build on their skills in problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. As they build on their abilities, they will grow in confidence. All these are vital skills to prepare our children for their future roles in our 21st Century community. The bookcase will help organize the STEM kits, related reading material, and extra supplies that they could use to spark more ideas and exploration.
