Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a wonderful group of newcomer students in grades 9 through 12. These hard-working, fun-loving students love to learn English, but oftentimes it is challenging to make lessons fun and engaging. Games to the rescue! With your donation, I will be able to purchase a number of phonics games that will help my students to learn foundational English skills while having fun and building community with each other.
These hands-on, highly engaging games will bring smiles to my students' faces, while also bringing them closer to their goal of acquiring English.
Students will play these games in stations during class time. Having a wide variety of games will help to ensure students stay on task and remain engaged. These games will really boost my instruction by creating a fun break during our lengthy lessons. Your donation will be used to support all the newcomer students I teach this year and for many years to come.
