This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When learning does not come as easily for you as it does for others, you can get discouraged and want to give up. Despite their learning difficulties, my students persevere and usually try their best. I want to continue to be able to provide my students with requested rewards such as fidgets, scented markers, snacks, stress balls, and coloring books.
Classroom rewards can be a great way to boost a student's self-esteem, encourage positive behavior, and help motivate students.
I find that rewards increase participation, encourage students to try their best, and motivate them to work together. These rewards help my students monitor their own behavior by tracking when they will get to select a reward - students must earn 10 punches on their punch card to have the opportunity to choose a reward. Positive reinforcement of good behavior works best for me and my students and the use of rewards has been shown to be effective as seen in modified behavior by students.
