Help me give my students the Diversity Inclusion Daily Practice Journal - Gr 1-2, Diversity Inclusion Hardcover Library, and the All About Me Journal - K-Gr 1.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My first-grade students are eager to learn. For some of my students, this is their first experience being in an actual classroom. They are energetic and very curious about everything. They love to express themselves in writing, drawing, coloring, and painting. My students are discovering the world through books and through technology.
They meet all challenges with a positive attitude and a belief that everything is possible.
My students are primarily English language learners and their primary language is Spanish. I teach in a low-socioeconomic community where resources are limited.
My Project
The Diversity and Inclusion Hardcover Library with titles such as "She Persisted" and "I Am One" will help my students understand how it is best to be unique and true to ourselves. The Diversity and Inclusion Daily Practice Journal will challenge my students to think about fairness and justice. Both of these resources will help students explore identity and appreciate cultural diversity.
The All About Me Journal will serve as a culminating activity so students can write about who they are and their future goals.
I believe that children need to have the right tools in order to feel empowered and to stand up for what is right.
