My Project
Our LEAP Autism Classrooms are moving into a new, more inclusive school setting. LEAP stands for Language-Enriched Autism Program and serves students with a primary exceptionality of autism or SDD. The program was created to support students with limited to no communication system, hence the term "Language-Enriched".
We are needing new cubbies because our current ones are old and weathered.
Additionally, these cubbies will serve to establish the necessary structure in our distinctive classroom environment. Creating clear boundaries and structure is imperative to effectively support the needs of our students. Cubbies will also help aid in communication for those who benefit from visual cues and supports. Sturdy cubbies will play a vital role in supporting the unique needs of our students with autism in the classroom, promoting safety, organization, sensory regulation, independence, and engagement.
