This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I find that many students are reluctant to give up their devices and struggle to hold a book in their hands. We would love to introduce positive devices that will help develop reading skills and strategies that will include technology in a more positive manner. Our students have heard some small DVD books in the classroom, and I would like to introduce them to a Leap Frog Pen and book. I want them to be able to start reading words on their own and find assistance with the pen instead of calling out and asking other to read to them. This type of reading independence can create reading independence, enthusiasm, and a want to find more things to read.
