Leaping Into Learning With Leapfrog

My Students

Did you have a love of reading as a child? My students have not yet begun to love reading because they struggle with building fluent reading skills, which reduces their desire to read dramatically. Help them to increase their love for reading through the use of the LeapFrog Tag Reading System.

The students that will use the LeapFrog Tag Reading System are special education students in the state of Michigan with a range in disabilities.

I have autistic students, cognitive impaired students, learning disabled students, and speech and language impaired students. They are between the ages of 5-8 years old. Generally, they perform approximately two years below their age appropriate peers.

My Project

All children love to play video games! Special Education students are no different. Through the use of the "Leap Frog Tag Reading System" my students will increase their love for reading, without even knowing it! The spelling portion will help beginning reader and writers increase their word building skills. I am also requesting carrying cases, so that the children will be able to sign them out and take them home over the weekend.

The LeapFrog Tag Reading System will provide students with an opportunity to use technology to increase reading comprehension skills, and phonemic word analysis skills, while stimulating hand and eye coordination.
