My students need the 7 resource books about Ancient Egypt, 10 art aprons, a water monitoring test kit, 10 loupes, a political globe, and an electric pencil sharpener.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Waugh's classroom raised $520
This project is fully funded
I teach a 4th grade gifted education class with 35 students...and NO gifted funding available in a high-need community.
Did you know that less than 2 cents of every 100 educational dollars is spent on gifted education in the U.S? Gifted funding is not available in our area. I recently obtained a gifted education position at my school and got my own classroom (which was technologically-deprived) so I desperately need resource materials and science/social studies supplies to help get my units started. I have basic supplies but I need the chosen supplies to get my classroom units underway for the year.
During our units, I want to teach map skills to the students, but I have no globe in my room. My students will also be conducting art/science projects throughout the year so the water monitoring test kit, art aprons, loupes, and resource books would REALLY come in handy in my learning centers. My students are intellectually-gifted and need these experiences (outside of their regular education classroom) in order to challenge them and enhance their capabilities.
Your help will allow my students to gain a better understanding of the world around them. By supplying the resources that they will use throughout the year, you will be furthering their education beyond just reading and math. You will make it possible for my students to create their own learning through real-world experiences within our classroom. YOU will help to make a significant difference in the lives of my students.
