My Students

Our world is changing! Help my students keep up with global changes by providing them with technology for learning. They will learn their letters and numbers but, more importantly, they will be introduced to technology.

I teach 15 busy, happy four-year olds.

We sing, color, paint, and giggle our way through the alphabet, numbers, colors, and basic science and social studies concepts. At this age, students need to touch, explore, build, and create to learn, so the more "play" I give my students, the better they learn. 96% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Many are minorities. They don't know, however, that they are considered disadvantaged. They are bright and eager to learn and they love school. Every day is a new adventure for my students and I love helping them explore it.

My Project

LeapPad 2 devices and accessories will give my students a new venue to learn while playing. These items will also provide them with a needed introduction to technology. Research shows that students learn best when they are fully engaged and we all know that technology can easily and quickly capture the full attention of a child! I can't wait to see my students engaged and learning on technology designed and purchased especially for them.

My students have a lot to overcome but I know they can grow up to be teachers, librarians, engineers, statisticians, or anything else they want to be.

Their journey starts now, in my classroom, at four years old. It is essential for them to get a good foundation, and this includes technology. If they use technology now, they will be comfortable with it when they grow up. They will be able to compete in a technological world. Thank you for helping my students! They are our future!
