Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Some of my students have not yet discovered books and learning tools that capture their imagination and lead them to better understand their place in the world. This could be the year that will enable them to flourish as life long learners with endless possibilities.
My school currently serves grades pre-K-3 and will continue to grow to serve students to 5th grade.
Our student population consists of a large number of students from diverse cultures and lower socioeconomic backgrounds. The school's goal is to educate the whole child through hands-on learning and character education to meet their diverse academic, emotional and social needs. Overall, the students are hardworking, creative, eager to learn and excited about school.
My Project
My students need books to enhance their learning, understanding and reading skills as well as to enable them to flourish as life long thinkers, readers and writers. Also, my students need science activity labs to improve their learning of how their world works, their place in the world and how they can make the world a better place. My project would provide students with fiction and nonfiction books to read and science tools to explore and enhance their academic and learning abilities.
My project would improve my classroom because my students will have the necessary tools to thrive as thinkers and learners.
Ultimately, my goal is to provide my students with all the resources they need to become productive and well-rounded citizens of the world.
