Leaders in the Making: Empowering Student Voices

Help me give my students the tools to continue to grow the Leadership Club at our school and improve their individual skills as leaders on campus through student engagement activities, book studies, yearbook/newsletter producing and team building.

My Project

Our Leadership Club is helping students at our small K–6 school discover their voices, grow their confidence, and become active contributors to our campus culture. This year, we launched the club for the first time and saw students proudly take over morning announcements, raise and lower the flag each day, design t-shirts, build a school newsletter, and develop a strong sense of teamwork. But we’re just getting started.

To build on this success, we’re seeking support for notebooks, cameras, leadership-focused books, and tie-dye supplies.

These tools will allow our students to take on even bigger projects like leading book discussions, creating newsletters and the yearbook, documenting campus events, and participating in meaningful team-building activities.

These items will not only support hands-on learning but will empower our students to lead with creativity, reflection, and pride. Our school is tucked into a rural corner of the district, and while our students consistently perform at high academic levels, they often lack access to the same resources and opportunities other schools enjoy. Their families work hard but don’t always have extra income for enrichment activities. That’s why we fundraise, plan intentionally, and look for ways to stretch every opportunity we can find. These kids are bright, kind, and full of potential they just need the tools to turn their leadership dreams into reality.
