Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Each summer, our school welcomes incoming 9th graders through a special Summer Bridge program designed to ease their transition into high school. To lead this important work, we train upper-grade student leaders who serve as mentors, role models, and culture-builders for the freshmen.

We are requesting matching shirts for these leaders to promote unity, visibility, and school pride.

When leaders wear these shirts, it signals to new students who they can turn to for help, creating a supportive and welcoming environment from day one. The shirts are more than clothing—they symbolize leadership, responsibility, and community.

This project supports students' mental health and sense of belonging by building strong peer connections. Our Summer Bridge leaders will carry these skills into the school year as student ambassadors and continue to support our new 9th graders throughout their critical first year.
