Leaders are Readers

My students need a listening center to store all of our books, cd and player, and headphones. My students love listening to books being read to them on a CD.

My Students

I teach a multi-aged classroom of preschool and kindergarten. My students come from a low socioeconomic background and their parents want them at our school so they can get the very best education. The parents only have a few good school choices for their children.

I want my students, who are in school for the first time, have the best experience that I can give them.

They deserve to have all the opportunities that are available. My students deserve this project so that they can have a chance at a great start to their education.

My Project

My students deserve every opportunity in the world to be success full. One avenue is to have literature in all forms readily available to them and to create a print-rich classroom. By having an anytime, and anywhere listening center will increase reading availability to my students that they currently don't have. Listening to books on cd will increase my students' ability to become great readers. We are trying to increase reading ability so that our students become leaders in our community.

Reading in the earliest grades shows that students will have the greatest success.

I want to increase their success by having all the books and CDs I can so that our classroom is rich in print.
