This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year, I am excited to launch three engaging IXL Leaderboard Challenges in my classroom to motivate students to master essential academic skills in English language arts, math, and science.

Each Leaderboard Challenge will focus on a different subject area:

1. ELA Leaderboard Challenge: Students will work toward mastering all of the IXL skills aligned to the California CAASPP Skill Path for English Language Arts.

2. Math Leaderboard Challenge: Students will focus on mastering the IXL skills aligned with the Math CAASPP Skill Path.

3. Science Leaderboard Challenge: Students will tackle the IXL skills aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Skill Path.

These challenges are designed to promote academic growth, reinforce key grade-level standards, and foster a fun, competitive spirit in the classroom. At the end of each challenge, the top three students who have mastered the most skills will earn a prize. These incentives are an important part of keeping students motivated and excited to learn, especially in a time when personalized, tech-based learning is more relevant than ever.

To bring this vision to life, I’m seeking support to fund student incentives and materials for these leaderboard challenges. This includes: Prizes, such as books and board/educational games.

These Leaderboard Challenges will help students build confidence and independence in their learning. By focusing on mastering skills, students will develop resilience, goal-setting habits, and subject mastery—skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Your support will directly impact student engagement, performance, and motivation in a fun and meaningful way. Help me empower my students to own their learning and celebrate their academic progress!
