Learning math is not nearly as easy if you are unable to see the board! I am a high school math teacher who teaches in a low-income and at-risk school district in the South.
Many of my classes are crowded and the layout of the room isn't conducive to using all of the whiteboard space that I have. My room is long and once I use up space on the central part of it, not all of my students are able to see what I'm doing. In addition, it's difficult to sit through a math period when the teacher is up at the board the whole time.
If I had an LCD projector, I would be able to utilize the classroom space for my students much more efficiently. I would also be able to move around among the students more because I would be able to teach from afar. Additionally, I could pull up valuable resources, information, and even games from the Internet and project them for the whole class to participate in. My students would LOVE the exposure to math in places other than their textbook!
You can help make this difference in my students' educations. Many of them are intelligent, bright, and excited to learn. Their classroom environment is hampering them, but you have the power to allow them to excel. Thank you for reading and considering!
