LAX to the MAX: Introducing Elementary Students to Lacrosse Teams

My students need mini lacrosse sticks and balls to form after-school lacrosse teams.

My Students

My elementary student athletes are an energetic bunch of passionate learners. They come to school every day, eager to transport themselves into the worlds of our stories and to develop their own. Coming from a town of diverse socioeconomic and racial backgrounds, my students thrive in our school where kindness is the key to all decisions.

The students also love to PLAY!

The minimal recess and physical education time they receive each week is just not enough for these active and excitable kids. As student athletes of an elementary school, they are hopeful of creating various after-school clubs where they can come together in competitive teams.

My Project

Last year, students repeatedly requested after-school lacrosse teams, but the school's budget could not afford to cover the costs of starting a new extracurricular. The students are eager to play more with their friends before heading home for the day, and the creation of lacrosse teams is one way to keep students active and to reinforce positive sportsmanship with their peers.

This equipment will provide fourth and fifth-grade student athletes the opportunity to participate in friendly competition with their classmates after school.

Students look forward to the possibility of hosting tournaments and family nights with their teams and brand new equipment.
