This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I am returning to the joyful world of kindergarten after teaching second grade. My students are energetic, curious, and brimming with stories to tell - even before they can write all the letters of the alphabet. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique voices to our classroom community. For many this is their very first school experience, and I want it to be one filled with creativity, confidence, and growth. To help my young learners grow into confident writers, I am requesting materials that include anchor charts, dry erase markers and writing boards, and a karaoke machine for small group instruction. These resources will allow us to create a rich environment where students can explore writing in developmentally appropriate ways - through drawing, labeling, storytelling, and sentence writing. Your support will help build a writing space that nutures creativity and strengthen the building blocks of literacy.
