Help me give my students supplies they need to create a habitat on the moon. Teams will tie-dye a shirt, create a moon habitat with clay, craft sticks and other items and launch a rochet to the moon.
The best days are the ones in which my students are curious, excited and eager to learn. Researching, design and hands-on activities get my students excited about learning. I want them to be curious, work as a team, be willing to take risks, try new things, and complete challenging tasks.
To build curiosity students need to tinker, build, fail, and try again.
This is what real inventors and engineers do! These habits include: be curious, create strategies, work as a team, be willing to take risks, try new things, and complete challenging tasks.
The opportunities provided in class will help students reach these goals. The project materials will do that. They will design a t-shirt for their team, make a bottle rocket to launch, build a habitat and delve into the question of how to sustain life on the moon. Students will love this hands-on approach to designing their mission to the moon.
