My literacy intervention classroom needs more interactive and engaging student centers.
My students are working hard everyday to overcome various challenges in literacy.
They are pulled from their homeroom class to work in small group literacy intervention for one hour everyday. This focused instruction time is crucial to help them achieve their reading and writing goals of proficiency on their grade level. In some cases, this means more than two years growth in one year.
My Project
These resources will provide informative literacy center work where students can feel successful being independent. It makes them very proud to be able to accomplish tasks in reading comprehension independently because so much of their work in literacy is guided by a teacher. These resources are also bright, interesting, colorful, and engaging!
When my students walk in the room and see that they it's a day with center work where they can showcase their independent skills, their faces beam with excitement.
