This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students and I want to begin a community garden at Latitude High School, for use in classrooms as well as for general use. We currently have a big plot of garden space, as well as 20+ garden boxes that are currently un-utilized. Next year, with the addition of electives, students and I plan to revive these garden spaces into a beautiful green space for our campus by planting veggies, flowers and native plants. Additionally, the garden will be leveraged by science and humanities classes for their units and projects on the climate and environment.
