Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a kindergarten teacher, but I also coach track to 3rd-6th graders. Although the age group is very different, the students are still so special. They are so unique and full of grit.

Many of the students I coach are new to running but their commitment and perseverance to the sport is very admirable.

I had a few students tell me they were nervous starting track, but seeing them now is incredible.

The students push themselves and their teammates to do their best. We have one month left until our last practice and I want to give students a snack pack to reward their hard work. The snack pack would include a drink, some snacks, and a small trophy to reward my team's hard work. I work at a Title I school and all students receive free lunch. I know this snack pack will surprise and excite my team.
