Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our middle school is a rural school located in Red Bluff, California. Our school has a diverse student population with over 50% who are economically challenged.
With this device, I will be able to create STEM and CTE activities for all of our students.
The Elegoo Laser Engraver and Cutter will encourage students to be creative and turn items from their imaginations into reality.
This device allows students to use different materials to work with. Some of the project ideas that I have are 3D puzzles, building models that we are learning about in science, items to share with family (rolling pin, paper towel holder, personalized trivets), and designing tools to help with our school garden. This experience will expose them to new career opportunities such as CNC engineer, architect, and creative designer to name a few.
My students include the sixth, seventh and eighth graders. I have students of all background and abilities. This project that I am seeking funding for will inspire and encourage students to try new things.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
