My Project
I am looking for ways to get students and their teachers excited to use our campus's Makerspace lab. A Makerspace lab is a place where students can express their creativity by designing, building, problem-solving, and challenging themselves. Currently, our Makerspace is unused by our staff and students. It is uninspired and lacking in creative tools.
Engaging and unique tools, such as a laser engraver, will help to spark creativity and boost the use of our Makerspace lab.
One of the amazing things about Makerspace is watching students who struggle to succeed academically find success with different projects. They light up as they design and create incredible things. My goal is to have a laser engraver in the Makerspace to allow kids the creativity and passion to take different skills and apply them in a way they would not be able to outside of the Makerspace. The possibilities are endless.
