This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over seventy-seven percent of our students receiving free lunch. Our students speak a multitude of languages. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are also diverse in their academics as well.
My students are an enthusiastic, eager group of third-grade students who come from very diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our school is a Title One school. My students are excited about learning and want to do well. Our class includes gifted learners, English language learners and students with academic disabilities.
My Project
I need a desktop computer with a large monitor to help project and organize Zoom meetings. I need help when sharing my screen and demonstrating lessons for my students with a split-screen. I need to be able to see them and what I am doing online at the same time. Doing this on a smaller screen hinders my access to my students.
I need tools to help my students and I feel connected to one another while distance learning.
With wireless tools such as the trackpad, mouse, and keyboard, students can contribute to a project by being able to view the large monitor and still keep their distance. This is such a difficult time for students and helping us get the right tools will help us feel connected and collaborative and not isolated.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
