Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will encompass several key initiatives:

Establishment of a Student-Led Learning Garden: We will create a hands-on learning garden where students can participate in all aspects of gardening, from planting to nurturing.

This will provide valuable experiential learning opportunities in social-emotional learning, executive functioning skills, literacy, science and environmental stewardship.

Beautification of School Grounds: We will revitalize our campus with native plants, colorful flowerbeds, and inviting outdoor spaces. This will create a more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Integration of Curriculum: We will integrate the garden and beautification efforts into our existing curriculum, providing cross-curricular learning opportunities in art, math, science and social studies.

Community Engagement: This project will not only beautify our school but will also cultivate a sense of pride, responsibility, and connection to nature within our students. By investing in this initiative, you will be empowering Lara Academy to create a sustainable and thriving learning environment that benefits our entire community. We are confident that this project will leave a lasting positive impact on our students and the surrounding neighborhood.
