My students need access to technology with Chromebooks. We don't have any computers in our class and these laptops would be an excellent educational resources.

My Students
I am excited to kick off a new year at a new school with an amazing bunch of learners.My class is a "combo" class of 4th and 5th grade students. My students are extremely diverse and there are more than 5 home languages represented in my class. The students are eager to begin to research, create and present their projects and expand their learning in science, math and history among others. We are a high poverty school K-6 school located north of downtown Los Angeles. Over 40% of students at our school qualify for reduced priced lunch. Our school actively seeks new and creative ways to integrate art, technology and literacy.
In order to accomplish all the of the amazing things we have planned for the school year we are in desperate need of technology resources.
My Project
These materials would make an amazing difference in the lives of my students. We currently have no computers in our classroom. Sometimes the technology will be used to help a student struggling with math or reading. The artists in class will have opportunities to create art in a new and unique way. My 4th grade students will use the computers to trace and map the multiple routes to the Gold Rush using Google Maps. My 5th graders will have science move from the textbook to accessing videos about the most recent discoveries about the respiratory and circulatory systems. Both grades can use this information to create presentations and other technologically driven projects. Using this technology, my students would also driving their own educational goals. They will be able to navigate the internet and access the world at their fingertips.
The addition of this technology would mean the world to my students.
Many of my students have little to no internet access at home and equipping them with technology is powerful. Thank you for supporting my classroom.
