This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 5th-grade special education class is truly the most determined group of students I have ever met. All of my students have learning disabilities that cause them to struggle with reading, writing, and math. Despite their disabilities, they are motivated to succeed.

I am constantly inspired by my students' desire to learn.

Most of my students struggle to focus throughout the day. Using engaging tools and lessons is essential for success. It is important that every lesson I teach reaches all different types of learners.

My Project

This year we have been faced with unprecedented challenges. Students and teachers turned their classrooms into virtual suites overnight.

My students and I have learned so much about technology, Google Classroom, YouTube, etc in such a short period of time.

Imagine what we could do if we had our own laptops in the classroom when we return to school.

Our students have faced so much trauma but they have been remarkably open-minded and resilient in our last few months of distance learning. In September, I would love to continue using technology to engage students in reading, writing and math lessons.
