Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

At our Title I, low-income school, we have adopted some wonderful programs for helping transitional families. Many of our students come from low-income​ families. Our school has a thriving backpack buddy program, holiday assistance program, and clothes closet to help make ends meet. We want to help these families continue to succeed.

Many of my students have limited access to technology at home.

Many of our families struggle to meet their basic needs. They are doing their best to help their children succeed. Many of my students only have access to educational technology at school. They are only exposed to the technology needed for their future career success on campus.

My Project

Technology is integrated into most of the careers of today. Restaurants use computers for ordering and payment. Farmers use technology to track the health of their animals and even keep track of irrigation levels. Students need to know how to use technology to help them in their chosen careers. Even testing is technology based now too.

We live in the age where technology helps you succeed.

Employers are looking for people who come in with skills that include using technology and learning technology easily. These laptops will give my students a leg up in their climb to success. Help them begin their journey strong.
