This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are leaders of the future. They are curious, positive, and taking charge of their learning. Although they come from a high-poverty area in Boston, they are hard-working and deserve the absolute best. The majority of the students in my classroom are ELLs, English Language Learners. 65% of the students at school speak a first language other than English. The faculty, administration, and support staff are dedicated to our students, and we are all proud to be part of the same team.

My Project

We as a staff work extremely hard to provide all students with a world-class education. Yet, the lack of technological support creates a barrier to providing students with the interactive instruction they deserve. If all students had access to technology, it would help ensure that they could express themselves and show their learning in multiple ways.

All students regardless of race and class should have the right to an exceptional public education.

Having access to 21st century technology can play a role in ensuring this happens for our students. The use of laptops will help us implement UDL strategies, which has a direct correlation to learning outcomes.

We are a dedicated and motivated 2nd grade team, providing premier teaching. Although, our classrooms are outdated when it comes to technology. Having this technology would help support our students and create effective learning environments that mirror the current resources available to so many other schools.
